Requirements & FAQ's

At Mocean Waverunners, we want you to have a safe, fun & memorable experience!

  • All drivers must provide valid state issued identification (driver's license or non-driver's license) to rent a waverunner.  This includes passenger(s) that may want to drive too.
  • All drivers must be 16 years of age or older to drive and will need to show proof of age with photo identification.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • If the driver and/or passenger is under 18 yrs of age, the signature & ID of a parent/guardian or responsible party is required for consent and responsibility.
  • All renters and passengers must sign a rental agreement, release of liability, and waiver form(s).
  • Mocean Waverunners reserves the right, at our discretion, to deny rentals to any person(s) not qualified to ride/drive a waverunner/jetski.
  • Mocean Waverunners and/or No Bonez Bait and Tackle are NOT responsible for any personal belongings.  They are left at your own risk.

Can I drive a waverunner if I've never driven one before?
Yes, we fully instruct you how to operate a waverunner.  You stay within our designated riding area (our area is over 3 miles large & you don't have to ride in circles) and we have instructors on the water supervising and helping AT ALL TIMES.  You are always more than welcome to ask questions if you are uncertain of anything.  We are there to help you!

If there's a long wait, do I have to stay and wait?
No, as long as you leave us a cell/contact number to reach you, if we need to. However, in order to reserve your spot all paperwork needs to be filled out, ID needs to be given and you need to pay.  Then we will give you time to come back.
If you decide, you're on vacation and you would like to sit back, relax and wait, here are some of things we have to offer...  we have chairs & tables, you can watch the boats dock and unload and weigh what they caught for the day (some of it is pretty interesting).. there's usually live music later in the day.  Next door at No Bonez Bait & Tackle, they have a huge aquarium, boat rentals and all of your fishing needs, restaurants, sight seeing boats and a gift shop and other things depending on the day.

 Do I need a boater's certificate/license to drive one?
No, you do not need a boater's certificate to operate a waverunner.  However, we require you to provide valid state issued photo identification ex:driver's license or non-driver's license.

Does the travel time to and from the riding area count towards our 1/2 hour or 1hour?
Absolutely NOT!  It roughly takes 10 mins to get out to our riding area and roughly 10 mins back (for a total of 20 min) because it's mostly a no wake zone (you can't go over 5 mi/hr) and you must be patrolled in a line to and from the riding area .   If you sign up for a 1/2 hr, you ride for a 1/2 hr in the riding area.  The travel time is in addition to that... and the same for a 1 hr rental.

For example:
10 mins to riding area + 1/2hr in riding area + 10 mins from riding area = 50 mins (total riding time)
While some include that in your ride time.  Therefore, your total time riding around in the riding area is about 10-15 mins long (this ex. for a 1/2 hr rental)
With us, you don't pay to travel in the no wake zone, you pay to get out and ride!!

Do you provide life jackets or do we need our own?
Yes, we provide both adult and children's life jackets.

How do we know when our time is up?
There are patrol staff out on the water not only to supervise but to keep the time as well.  Therefore, you don't need to worry about it.. just ride and have a good time!

Where can we ride them?
You have to ride them within our designated riding area.  There's plenty of room, it's over 3 miles large and you don't have to ride around in circles.

Can we take them outside of the riding area?
Absolutely NOT! This is forbidden...when you rent a waverunner, you have to stay within a designated riding area.  One of the advantages of renting with us, is that ours is over 3 miles large and you don't have to ride in circles.  You will feel as if you're taking them out on your own because of that.

Can people go out & watch if they are not riding on a waverunner?
Yes, (certain restrictions apply) usually we have a pontoon boat that will shuttle you to and from the riding area.  However, it does have a maximum capacity of passengers allowed.  Priority is given to riding customers first.  If there is extra room the rider(s) spectators are more than welcome to come along and watch, take pictures, etc. and it's FREE!

What do we do with our belongings/personal items?
Mocean Waverunners &/or No Bonez Bait and Tackle are not responsible for personal belongings.  We do provide baskets for you to place your belongings in.  We advise anything of value should be locked in your car.  We can hold your keys in our office but your belongings are left at your own risk.

What can I wear on it?
Anything you feel comfortable wearing.  The only exception are the flip flops/sandals with the bottle openers in the sole of the shoe.  They damage the machines.

Can I wear my sunglasses on it?
Yes you can but  wouldn't advise it if they are expensive or your favorite.  There's always a chance you may lose them out there.  You can wear the straps that attach to them to help prevent them from coming off.  If you don't have any, No Bonez Bait & Tackle Shop, next door sells them.

Can I wear my shoes on one?
Yes, you can.  We want you to be comfortable when you ride and have a pleasant experience!  The only type of shoe not allowed on would be the flip flops/sandals with the bottle openers in the sole.  They damage the machines.  Eventhough, you are more than welcome to wear flip flops while riding, many have found them difficult to keep on but again, it's up to you.
